Requirements

  • Content submitted can be in article or video format, and must revolve around the 15th General Election (e.g. your experience volunteering as a polling agent, interesting incident on the polling day, your thoughts & expectations etc).

  • Content submitted can either be in English, Malay or Mandarin.

  • Your content submission must include the #GE15 / #PRU15 hashtag in the title. Submissions without the hashtag in the title will not be counted as an entry for this campaign.

  • Content must be unique and not plagiarised. Content submitted is to be exclusive to Newswav and not shared with other media outlets/publishers.

  • Participants must share the published content in the form of Newswav link (e.g. newswav.com/xxx) on their social media platform(s) during the campaign period.

NEWSWAV TOP PICKS x20

Twenty (20) best-produced content will be selected by Newswav at the end of the campaign period, where winners will receive RM500 each.

One (1) English content, One (1) Bahasa Melayu content, and One (1) Mandarin content with the highest number of engagements* by the end of the campaign period will receive RM500 each.

*Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav.

Terms & Conditions

CONTEST PERIOD

  1. The #GE15 / #PRU15 (the “Contest”) is organised by Newswav Sdn. Bhd (“the Organiser”).

  2. The Contest will commence from October 17 - December 2, 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Contest Period”).

  3. However, the submission period will start from October 17 - November 25, 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Submission Period”).

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY

   4. The Contest is open to all Malaysians (the “Participants") that fall under the following category:

        i) Newswav users
        ii) Aged 18 and above residing in Malaysia


 

CONTENT SUBMISSION & REQUIREMENTS

   5. The Submission Period starts from October 17th, 2022 at 12:00 pm MYT until November 25th, 2022 at 12:00 pm MYT.

   6. Content submitted can be in article or video format (the “Contest Content”), and must revolve around the 15th general election.

   7. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any submissions that are non-relevant or forcefully related to the theme.

   8. Content submitted can either be in English, Malay or Mandarin.

   9. Your content submission must include the #GE15 or #PRU15 hashtag in the title. Submissions without the hashtag will not be counted as an entry for this campaign.

   10. Content must be unique and not plagiarised. Content submitted is to be exclusive to the Organiser and not shared with other media outlets/publishers.

   11. Participants must share the published content in the form of Newswav link (e.g. newswav.com/xxx) on their social media platform(s) during the campaign period.


 

WINNER SELECTION

   12. NEWSWAV TOP PICKS x20: Twenty (20) best-produced content will be selected by Newswav at the end of the campaign period, where winners will receive RM500 each.

   13. TOP ENGAGEMENT PRIZE x3: One (1) English content, One (1) Bahasa Melayu content, and One (1) Mandarin content with the highest number of engagements by the end of the campaign period will receive RM500 each.

        a. Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav. 

        b. Newswav reserves the right to remove any duplicated, non-genuine, malicious or spam reactions, shares, and comments when tabulating the winner list.

   14. Each participant could win more than One (1) prize (e.g. Individual A could win the Newswav Top Picks and Top Engagement Prize).

   15, Winners shall be solely determined by the Organiser, whose decision shall be deemed final. No correspondence or appeal(s) will be entertained.


 

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT & PRIZES REDEMPTION

   16. Winner announcements will be made on December 16, 2022 via email to all participants.

   17. Participants who fail to reply to the email within seven (7) days will have their prize forfeited.

   18. Winners must provide a copy of their NRIC for verification purposes. Failure to do so may result in their prizes being revoked.

   19. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or refundable in any way.


 

GENERAL

   20. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the Contest Content and the participation of this Contest shall be fully borne by the Participants.

   21. Contest Content must not be vague, illegal, or unlawful, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libelous, offensive, must not infringe any third party’s legal rights, and must not be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or the Organiser or a third party (in each case under any applicable law). User Content must be researched beforehand and to be of truth.

   22. The Organiser reserves the right to reject, edit or remove any of the Participants’ content at the discretion of the Organiser, at any time.

   23. By submitting the Contest Content, The Organiser has the rights to use the entries or material submitted for library, promotional, or commercial use globally.

 

DECLARATION & AUTHORISATION

   24. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to postpone, reschedule and/or extend the Campaign Period and/or terminate the Contest at any given time without prior notice.

   25. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the mechanics, prizes, and terms & conditions of the Contest, as well as other aspects of the Contest at its absolute discretion without prior notice.

   26. By participating in this Contest, the Participants are deemed to have read and understood and have agreed to comply with all terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set forth in this section (as varied or changed).
